Backflow Prevention FAQs

WHAT IF REPAIR IS NEEDED ON MY DEVICE?

Minor repairs will be completed at the time of the test.  We will contact you with cost estimate for approval if repairs are needed.

DOES THE WATER NEED TO BE TURNED OFF TO PERFORM THE TEST

The water does need to be turned off for just a few minutes.  For irrigation devices this does not affect the main water supply.

WHAT IS DONE AFTER THE TEST HAS BEEN COMPLETED?

A tag will be attached to each device showing the date tested and Pass/Fail results. We will forward a test report to the customer and appropriate authority as required.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?

We accept cash, check, or credit cards.

WHY DOES THE BACKFLOW TEST NEED TO BE COMPLETED ANNUALLY?

State law requires the test to be completed once a year to verify the backflow preventer is working correctly.

WHERE IS MY IRRIGATION DEVICE LOCATED?

Irrigation backflow preventers are usually located outside of the home or business, but occasionally are located inside.

WHAT IF THE DEVICE IS LOCATED INSIDE?

If the device is located inside, an appointment needs to be made and someone over the age of 18 must be present to provide access to the device.
